Oxfam Oxmas Day!

Today the school gathered to celebrate our annual Oxfam Oxmas day.

Everyone dressed up Christmassy and brought in a can or a gold coin. The cans went to support the local Salvation Army to provide food for families this Christmas. The coins went to support families overseas. Ngā mihi e te whānau.

Getting ready for the Mihi Whakatau on Friday

For our final Enviro session for the term, we started preparing the kai for the  Mihi Whakatau on Friday.

We picked rhubarb from the veggie garden to make rhubarb juice, and cut up the last pumpkin fro last summers crop to cook, ready to make pumkin scones.

A little maths challenge - how many pumpkin seeds did we find in the pumpkin?

Any ideas?

109!

Scavenger hunt!

Seeing we have at long last had some sunny weather, the Enviro team went on a scavenger hunt!

We set off in teams armed with an iPad, a bucket to pick up any rubbish we saw on the way, and a bag to gather any sticks, leaves, rocks and flowers that we find on the ground on the way.

Some photos of  what we found...

And then we got creative,
What did we make...
