Pavers!
The junior Enviro kids have been working on a special project.
Pavers for Te ngahere o nga tamariki.
First we planned what we would make and placed the broken bits of tile.
Bits of tile all placed and ready to be glued.
Next we mixed grout and spread it over our paver.
Pretty messy!
We took our pavers out to Te ngahere and dug out spots for them to go on the path.
Our finished pavers...
What an awesome team effort junior Enviro team!

Otari-Wilton Enviroschools day
On Tuesday the Year 3 and 4 Enviro team members went to Otari-Wilton for an Enviroschools day focusing on pollination.
First we went seed hunting and learnt about the ways seeds are spread.
Next we planted the kowhai seeds we gathered.
We had to rub the seeds on sandpaper to get them ready to plant.
Kowhai seeds planted, and ready to take back to school.
Next we looked through leaf litter for bugs and got to look at them under microscopes.
After lunch we went exploring in the creek and found an eel!
We walked into the forest to look at all the different kinds of plants and trees.
We looked carefully and then we drew all the different kinds of plants that we had seen.
To finish off we played a real fun game called "Pollination."
Thanks to all the wonderful parents and came and helped. We had a wonderful day!
